Successful Practices Deliver: Competency, Courtesy, Compassion, and Convenience

Every patient expects his or her physician and care team to be competent – that’s been a long time given. With the emergence of consumer-driven healthcare during the mid-90’s, a good dose of courtesy was suggested as the newest ingredient required to make a “better” practice. As practice staff learned to deliver care with a heavy dose of courtesy, the next level of care was sought after -- that next level, perhaps the “ultimate level of care”; compassionate care. Delivering these three levels of care would seem to be all that’s needed to ensure a successful practice. However, the delivery of healthcare is rapidly changing. It seems simple enough; even the best of care must be delivered, in order to be effective.
